Chili Recipe

This Chili recipe is not only yummy but it is a super easy recipe and a healthy recipe. It only took about 15 minutes to prepare and then we decorated Christmas cookies while it cooked for 30 minutes. Enjoy!

Serves 12

Ingredients

  • 1 medium onion chopped
  • 1 medium bell pepper chopped
  • 3lbs lean ground beef or turkey
  • 2 cups of water
  • 2 16oz cans of black beans drained
  • 2 6oz cans of tomato paste
  • 3 tsp of salt
  • 1 clove garlic minced
  • 1 tsp each of pepper, cumin, oregano, and ground red pepper

Make it
  1. In large pot, combine onion, bell pepper and meat. Cook over medium heat until cooked through and no longer pink.
  2. To cooked meat mixture, add remaining ingredients and mix well.
  3. Simmer over low heat for about 30 minutes to allow the flavors to blend.
  4. Now go ice cookies, do laundry or, better yet, go for a run!
